The Centre is Here (group show)

The Centre is Here is a group exhibition at SenaArt Gallery, a Nairobi space that promotes emerging African artists.

The show starts from the idea of presence. It pushes back against the habit of treating Africa as somewhere else, to be observed and explained from outside, and instead puts African bodies, memories, histories, labour, cultures and futures at the centre. Its premise is that African artists are not on the margins of their own stories.
