About the event

Resounding Rhizomes is a group exhibition at the Nairobi Contemporary Art Institute (NCAI), curated by Aude Christel Mgba and developed with Sustaining the Otherwise as part of the multi-location programme Practicing Otherwise.

The show follows seeds and plants as they travel across oceans and borders, settling into new soils, diets, economies, rituals and languages, and changing the places and people they reach. The works move from kitchens and households to plantations, markets and global trade, treating plant knowledge as a way to read relationships between communities, land and power.

Exhibiting artists are Leo Asemota, Rehema Chachage, Jim Chuchu, Letaru Dralega, Fabiana Ex-Souza, Em'kal Eyongakpa, Linda Lamignan and Maggie Otieno.
